Therapy For Entrepreneurs

and Businesspeople

You are a risk taker, visionary, and leader. You have worked in the business world, climbed the ladder, launched ventures, and possibly financed them with your own savings, sweat equity, and pocket lint. You are the artist painting the big picture—the brush is in your hand. You do it all (or it feels like you do). Your livelihood, and those of everyone who relies on your company for theirs, depends on your unwavering belief in yourself—and the confidence you project. You tell yourself, “I can do this.” in the mirror every day—because you can. And you are.

I know who you are. I’ve been there. Multiple times.

Visionaries come in all flavors: women and men, old and young, and everything in between, from every culture and demographic. You are the risk-takers, society’s bold explorers. I work with entrepreneurs and aspiring business leaders because I understand the roller coaster you experience on a daily basis—it is my favorite ride, too (I’ve gotten back in line several times to ride it again). I know you think differently from other people, because I am one of you. I wasn’t always a therapist. I have founded and run companies, and worked for others as well. I dream about work projects or strategic planning, and I know how much of your happiness is tied directly to how well your business is doing on any given day. I also understand how frustrating it is to spend your whole day putting out fires instead of doing what you love. Time is your most precious commodity, and your family may only get to spend it with you after the sun has set—and even then, you may struggle to be fully engaged (too busy thinking about that customer, project, proposal, check, etc.).

The depression and anxiety visionaries can experience is unique—so much of ourselves is tied up in our work. It can dramatically impact your functioning, both at home and at work. The leader’s battle is often fought in silence, away from the eyes of your employees and customers. Symptoms may manifest in different ways: you may catch yourself snapping at or avoiding people, locking your office door and pretending to be on a call, burying yourself in a project to avoid dealing with the pile of voicemail and email messages from your accountant. You may find yourself up at all hours of the night, unable to calm your mind enough to actually fall sleep. You may be soothing yourself in unhealthy ways, or withdrawing from your partner or family.

If you are reading this page right now, things have either already gotten away from you, you are worried they might, or someone who cares about you has convinced you to find someone to talk to about your stress. Good news: you are in the right place. I know the struggle, and I can help.

Imagine being able to actually relax and forget about work when you get home, and to fall asleep easily at night. Picture having enough time to spend with your kids and your spouse. Imagine taking real vacations! These things can actually happen. This isn’t speculative fiction. I’ve actually done it. I’ve helped other people do it. This is why I do this work now—to help passionate people take care of their mental health and wellbeing.

I help people realize the dream of doing things their way, and enjoying the fruits of their labors. Imagine leading that happy, fulfilling life you dream of. It really is possible if you are willing to ask yourself the hard questions and rebalance the equation. If you are genuinely interested in changing the balance of your life, and are ready to make the commitment to yourself to make the needed changes, give me a call or send me an email to schedule a free short phone consultation.
